The Northern Virginia real estate market showed strong resilience in April, with home sales jumping 3.5% from April 2023 and active listings increasing by 9.7%, according to the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS® (NVAR). Despite higher mortgage rates, consumers are actively buying and selling, resulting in a 36% sales increase over March 2024. Inventory slightly improved and homes sold quickly, averaging 14 days on the market—down from 18 days in April 2023. Median home prices rose 8.8% from last year.
