Community

This July, MKJ Homes proudly partnered with ALIVE! for a summer food drive that brought our community together in the best way possible. What began as a one-week initiative quickly grew into a two-week campaign filled with generosity, compassion, and neighborly love.

Together, we collected 288 pounds of food to support Alexandria families facing food insecurity. From canned goods to kid-friendly meals, every item donated made a difference. Read our full blog recap and watch the YouTube video featuring the delivery and a behind-the-scenes tour of ALIVE!’s facilities.

We’re grateful to Dowden Terrace Pool for hosting, and to every donor who helped make this drive a meaningful success. This is what community looks like; and we’re proud to be part of it.

Missed the drive but still want to help? You can donate online to ALIVE! anytime. Donate here!

We believe that strong communities are built not only on great homes but also on shared experiences that bring us together. That’s why we were honored to serve as a Dahlia Sponsor for the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra’s Garden Sounds event. There’s something truly magical about sitting on the lawn of a beautiful Belle Haven home, watching the sun dip below the trees, and listening as the ASO’s musicians fill the evening air with soaring melodies.

For more information on future ASO concerts and other community events, visit alexsym.org and stay tuned to MKJ Homes for updates on how we’re giving back to the neighborhoods we love.

Thank you to Cooper Ginsberg Gray for the repeat opportunity to sponsor and participate in 23rd Annual Chipping In to End Domestic Violence Golf Tournament at the beautiful Bull Run Golf Club.

On October 27, 2023, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of sponsors, golfers, donors and community partners, this year’s tournament raised the highest amount ever – $93,000!

All of these funds directly benefit Artemis House, Fairfax County’s only 24-hour emergency shelter, which is operated by Shelter House, for victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. Throughout its history, the tournament has raised over $820,000! These funds have been used to assist hundreds of survivors on their path to safety, self-sufficiency and independence. The proceeds from this year’s tournament will have a huge impact on survivors who are currently navigating their way to a secure life.

Thank you again and Congratulations to you all!

We are honored to be a corporate sponsor of the Alexandria City High School Marching Band and award winning Marching Titans!

It is no small effort to be a part of a marching band, believe me as a band parent. Our kids work very hard.

We are constantly grateful for donations (give here). The money raised goes to uniform replacements, band equipment, music lessons for students, and general support. Your donations are greatly appreciated! Go, Mighty, Mighty Titans!!

RED Day is May 14, 2020!

What does it mean? It stands for Renew, Energize and Donate and is Keller Williams’ annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, we celebrate RED Day as a part of our legacy worth leaving. Making a difference in the lives of others and bettering the communities that we serve lies at the heart of the Keller Williams culture. This observance defines who we are and is a natural extension of our commitment to the highest level of professional customer service. Over time, a growing number of our family members and friends continue to participate in this extraordinary event. It embodies the generous spirit and commitment associates have to “giving back” to the cities and towns they live and work in.

It’s Spring 2 ACTion Day in Alexandria City! To donate, visit here.

As many of you know, I am passionate about a good cause, and supporting my community. Today is Alexandria City’s 10th annual Spring2ACTion Day – an annual city wide Day Of Giving event – to help raise awareness and much needed funds for many organizations that help to support the community of Alexandria City and beyond.

This year, I am working toward this year is to raise funds to provide mobile hot spots throughout the city to provide Alexandria City Public School students with internet access for their distance learning. As a parent of a middle school student immersed in distance learning, I love this effort and believe that all our children should have access to internet for learning especially right now.

Thank you for your time and contributions!
