Spring Cleaning the Natural Way with H2O at Home

Blog Article: Spring Cleaning the Natural Way

March 2021

I don’t know about you…but as soon as the weather starts to get warmer I get the urge to do some serious spring cleaning. Maybe it’s the feeling of the breeze blowing through my open windows, or the tulips peeking through the ground, or the amount of dirt my family brings in after playing catch in the yard. Whatever it is, I’m always looking for new eco-friendly cleaning products to keep my home fresh and my family and pets safe.

Let me introduce Carmen Lynch. She is a natural cleaning expert, as well as a mom and dog owner. When she told me 90% of household cleaning can be done with just water, I almost dropped my mop! I needed to see it to believe it.  So, I put my faith in Carmen and have never looked back at harsh chemicals again!  It all comes down to using the right tool for the job.  And, she sure does have some fantastic reusable smart cleaning tools.  To learn more about H2O at Home, please visit here. Besides the H2O at Home products, I have a few more environmentally and budget friendly cleaning tips to share. I hope you find these as helpful as I do!

Use pillowcases to dust ceiling fans. Toss the pillowcase over the fan blades and gently pull it off so the dust and dirt remain inside and not all over the floor, or you.

Add more houseplants to improve the air quality in your home naturally. They do all of the work for you by “breathing in” and neutralizing toxins in the air and then “breathing out” fresh oxygen.

Rubber gloves aren’t just for washing dishes.  Put one on and rub your hand over your couch, chairs, anything with upholstery. The friction causes the pet hair or lint to stick due to static electricity.  Then, just wash off with water.  It is truly amazing how well this works.

I’m a big fan of using wool dryer balls instead of disposable dryer sheets. They fluff up your clothes, remove lint and pet hair, and actually cut down on drying time.  No harsh chemicals on your clothes, and less garbage in landfills. If you prefer a scent added to your clean laundry, adding 2-3 drops of an essential oil to each of the dryer balls did the trick.
